About the event
Our “Try It!” classes are a great way to try something new without investing a lot of time and money up front. You can spend a great evening, maybe even make it a fun time with a friend, and try out an art form or a different medium – all in just a couple of hours. You don’t even have to spend a bunch of money on a supply list - just $20 straight to the instructor, and you are set!
In just 2 ½ hours, Kimberly will guide you step by step through the process. On 8x10-sized canvases or panels, you will learn layering effects and how to manipulate acrylic paint into a beautiful hydrangea still life using just your fingers (in gloves). In this class, students have loved learning how to use lights and darks to create the illusion of a rounded hydrangeas, adjusting where to place the paint to have one appear in front of the other. We’ll practice making round circles and shading one side and highlighting the other to make a plain circle look like it is three dimensional.
